HEARD FROM ABOVE

MAY - 2026

May comes with three bands that couldn’t be further apart:
Calva Louise with chaotic and cinematic metal.
Tokyo Tea Room taking us into a calm and dreamy space.
Summer of Hate, hazy psychedelics with an accent.

Calva Louise - Edge of the Abyss

Calva Louise keep expanding their universe with Edge of the Abyss, a record that feels as packed and unpredictable as their live shows. It jumps between punk, metal and electronics without settling, but it never feels random. There’s a thread running through it, a sense that everything is part of the same world, even when it gets messy. They’re not simplifying anything, if anything they’re doubling down on how far they can push it.

Tokyo Tea Room - No Rush

Tokyo Tea Room take their time with No Rush, and the title says enough. It’s built on mood more than moments, soft vocals, steady grooves, nothing trying too hard to stand out. The songs just sit there and unfold slowly, more about how they feel over time than any single hook. It’s the kind of record you leave on rather than actively chase.

Summer of Hate - Blood & Honey

Summer of Hate lean into atmosphere with Blood & Honey, letting textures and tension carry most of the weight. There’s a mix of shoegaze and post-punk in there, but it never feels locked into one lane. Funny enough, their closing track, The Gospel (According to Summer of Hate), feels less like an ending and more like opening a door into their world.

The albums in Apple Music.
